More and more we see Latin America’s youth mobilized when it comes to politics and social issues, especially younger creatives, who use their voices, images and expressions to escape patterns. The new generation has already given up being just followers and started questioning imported role models that haven’t guaranteed a fair economic and social prosperity.
When the globalized world is not appealing, a cultural expression in return to local identity grows stronger. New creatives are coming up with a new language that only someone from that country or region could really understand and relate to.
Singer, composer and performer Analei is an example of such talents. “Chapa Girl, tô carente no sul do Ocidente”, she sings. It is impossible to fit her within a concept because both her message and image are born from her personal path along with a particular imaginary.
We have had the opportunity to get to know Analei better, and the result is this video doc thought by her and edited by Júlio Limiro.
